Ilan Orly
Founder
Ilan is the founder and senior partner of Ilan Orly & Co. Law Offices, established in 1995, after 9 years (part of which as a partner) of practicing in a leading law firm in Israel. During the years, Ilan has gained extensive experience both in practical seamanship and in the Maritime Law field. Ilan is a (retired) Lieutenant Commander in the Israeli Navy. His extensive military experiences placed him on board various types of battle ships as well as submarines in a wide range of commanding roles. Subsequent to his military service, he has remained in his beloved field by working as a Captain of various yachts and marine vessels. The comprehensive skills he gained during his years of service in the Navy, in addition to his wide-ranging legal background, enable him to consider matters from several standpoints, including these regarding technical and seamanship professional matters, which are often crucial in maritime law cases. This expertise provides him with a rare and valuable advantage as an attorney and legal consultant in the maritime law field. His main practice is Shipbuilding Contracts, Yachts and Mega-Yachts, wet and dry shipping, advising on all areas of Admiralty law and practice, as well as on contractual matters arising out of charterparties and bills of lading. Ilan constantly advises to Shipowners, Charterers, Operators, Cargo Interests, Shipbrokers, P&I Clubs and Cargo, H&M and Liability Underwriters. Ilan also handles marine insurance cases, acting for both Ship/Yacht Owners/Cargo interests and Underwriters, and in particular on coverage issues, salvage and General Average.

Yoav Shpigler
Associate Lawyer
Yoav joined Ilan Orly & Co. in 1999 as an associate lawyer. Over the years, Yoav has gained wide-ranging experience in various aspects of Maritime Law and presently handles several of the firm's key cases. Yoav's main practice is Cargo Claims, Chartering and Demurrage disputes, Freight Forwarders Liability, Aviation claims and Admiralty. Yoav acts for Cargo Underwriters, Importers/Exporters, Freight Forwarders, Ocean Carriers, Port's Companies and Cargo Terminals, and has been involved with numerous types of cargo, from general and bulk oil and grain, through to containerized carriage. Yoav has dealt with several trade disputes including contamination, shortage and late delivery claims and has experience of handling international trade arbitrations, including GAFTA. Yoav leads the firm's Cargo and chartering disputes division.

Naomi Segev
Associate Lawyer & Notary
Naomi joined Ilan Orly & Co. in 2009 as an associate lawyer, after having worked in few other law firms for many years. Over the past 3 decades, Naomi has gained vast experience in legal consultation, financial and Liability claims, Real-Estate and others. Naomi's main areas of practice include Cargo Claims, Liability claims, warehousing liability.

Amir Orly
Associate Lawyer
Amir joined Ilan Orly & Co. in 2011 as an associate lawyer, after he made a change of career and became a lawyer. Prior to the above, Amir has worked 20 years as an aviation security personnel for El-Al Israel Airlines Ltd., where he became aware of airlines practice and handling. Amir has also been a football player and trainer for many years, including having his own football school. Amir is still the chairman (as a voluntary public service) of the Modiin City youth football teams. Both above activities contributed to Amir's business awareness and understanding. Amir's main practice areas include Cargo Claims, Contracts, Liability, Customs and Insurance claims.

Eran Galili
Associate Lawyer
Eran joined Ilan Orly & Co. as a legal intern and continued his professional path as an associate lawyer upon his admission to the Israel Bar. Eran brings a unique and practical perspective to the firm's maritime practice, drawing from his extensive background as a vessel commander in the Israeli Navy and as the Deputy Commander of the "Snapir" Unit. He holds a Commercial Skipper's License and he's a professional diver. This firsthand technical understanding of maritime operations, safety protocols, and vessel handling provides a significant advantage in analyzing the complex factual and technical aspects of marine insurance claims and naval disputes. At the firm, Eran provides legal support and handles cases involving litigation, maritime law, and torts, with a dedicated and meticulous approach to legal research and case management.

Polina Gavrilov
Administrative Manager
Polina joined Ilan Orly & Co. in 2025. Previously, she served in Unit 8200 of the IDF. Polina is the Office's Administrative Manager and in addition, serves as the focal point to all queries concerning ongoing cases and general inquiries.
